TML Announces New Leadership and Sets Course for the Future
TML Announces New Leadership
A new chapter is beginning at Tailormade Logistics (TML). Following a carefully prepared transition, founder Bert Vandecaveye is handing over the day-to-day management of TML to Kelly De Dijcker and Pieter Balcaen, who will henceforth assume the operational and strategic leadership of the logistics group as Co-CEOs. In addition, Kelly and Pieter, who previously already owned 75% of the shares, have acquired the remaining 25%, making them the sole shareholders of TML.
"What we have achieved with TML today is the result of years of entrepreneurship and the dedication of our employees," says Bert Vandecaveye. "After an intensive transition period, I am confident that Kelly and Pieter are the right people to lead the company into its next phase. They know the business, share our entrepreneurial spirit, and will continue building on what we have achieved together." "We have great respect for what Bert has built," say Kelly De Dijcker and Pieter Balcaen.
"We are committed to preserving the entrepreneurial mindset, growth strategy, and close involvement with both employees and customers. At the same time, we aim to further professionalize TML, strengthen collaboration across the group, and prepare the company for the next phase of sustainable growth."
Looking to the Future
Under the leadership of its new Co-CEOs, TML will continue to pursue its growth strategy with determination. The company remains committed to investing in a strong European network, modern logistics infrastructure, and integrated end-to-end solutions tailored to customer needs.
Sustainability remains a key driver of this strategy. TML continues to invest heavily in the development of multimodal logistics, with a stronger combination of rail freight, inland shipping, and short-sea transport alongside road transport, further reducing its environmental footprint. Digitalization and innovation also play a crucial role, with ongoing investments in automation and data-driven processes that enhance the transparency, reliability, and efficiency of the supply chain.
At the same time, TML continues to invest in its people, training, and leadership development, strengthening its professional organization while preserving the company's family values and entrepreneurial culture.
Consolidation in a Changing Industry
The logistics sector is undergoing accelerated consolidation, driven by rising costs, stricter sustainability regulations, and the need for greater scale to support digitalization and multimodal transport. In particular, medium-sized family-owned businesses are increasingly seeking partnerships with larger groups.
TML intends to continue playing an active role in this evolution by pursuing its proven acquisition strategy, focusing on complementary expertise, geographic expansion, and niche markets. Potential acquisitions are carefully selected based on cultural fit and long-term vision, ensuring they can maintain their identity while benefiting from TML's European network.
For Kelly De Dijcker and Pieter Balcaen, growth is not an objective in itself, but rather a means to provide customers with a stronger service offering and to achieve economies of scale that benefit the entire group.
